Aging is accompanied by many changes, for both the individuals aging and their families. When discouragement, anger, depression, pain management, anxiety or even despair become too intense to manage, outside help is indicated for both the individual and the family of support.
Select professionals with an awareness of community resources available to this population as well as a sensitivity to the special needs of those dealing with life passages and aging issues. These include family members caring or providing support for one or more elderly parent; those suffering from Alzheimer's disease, dementia, disorientation, or physical ailments; those experiencing life transitions, depression, or increased stressors and those experiencing increased helplessness.
