Agoraphobia

The essential feature of agoraphobia is anxiety about being in places or situations from which escape may be difficult or embarrassing, or for which help may not be available in the event of a Panic Attack.  Agoraphobia may occur with or without panic attacks.

Those suffering from agoraphobia show extreme avoidance of situations due to anxiety and fear. (i.e.: leaving one's home or being alone in one's home, being enclosed in an automobile, elevator, airplane, bridge, being in a crowd, separation from relatives, etc.)

When seeking treatment, select a professional with experience treating those suffering from panic attacks, anxiety, OCD or stress issues. You might also consider therapists with training in hypnotherapy or EMDR.
