Crisis intervention is defined as a response to trauma, which may be situational (one-time) or continual (on-going) in nature. Crisis deals with judgment and decisions such as, "Why is this happening to me?" as well as "I need to come to a decision." Examples of behaviors characterizing crisis situations include attempted suicide, any type of assault, caring a chronically ill person, destruction of property, catastrophic occurrences, etc. |
