Fear is a natural human emotion, however, some individuals are tormented due to constant fear which disrupts every aspect of their lives.
Some fears involve an unreasonable and intensive fear of objects or situations and individuals may be resistant to objective attempts to address these fears. These intensive, unreasonable fears are called phobias and may involve the fear of people, places and situations which make life difficult for the sufferer because they feel all these situations must be avoided. This may have a dramatic impact on one's life, ability to perform work or normal household management tasks (shopping, buying groceries, etc.), impact health and impact family or relationships with others.
Fears and phobias may be addressed by a number of techniques, including: hypnotherapy, systemic desensitization, and cognitive restructuring.
Many suffering from fears or phobias are able to return to their functional, normal lives with the proper help.
