Self Esteem Issues

Self-esteem is a belief that we belong and are accepted, capable, and loved. A strong, positive self-esteem helps us through life problems and creates success.
Those with high self-esteem consider themselves worthy and equal with others. They do not see themselves as perfect, but recognize weaknesses and limitations, expecting to grow and improve.

Those with low, or negative, self-esteem tend to reject themselves and feel dissatisfied with others as well. They often feel discouraged, inadequate and are very sensitive to criticism. Low self-esteem may be due to a recent loss, negative situation or may come from early or long term life patterns. Low self-esteem affects one's ability to develop positive relationships and enjoy life.

Self-esteem issues may be successfully addressed with the help of a mental health professional.
